Sunday Peace

So happy to be feeling better.  Had a headache that lingered for five days.  Certainly not fun.  Been busy working in the yard this weekend.  Mom and Dad came over because Mom got Dad to put in the faucet he gave me for my bathroom.  Poor guy!  He got the faucet out and found we needed to replace the cast iron sink also.  Now my bathroom is sporting a new sink and faucet.  Soon it will have a new paint job and I will be making a shower curtain.  I did finish the chicken scratch curtains I was making for my spare room this week.  The boy child has no problems being in there now and has taken over a bit.

This is the main project I have worked on lately.

Mom has always wanted a lace collar to change her shirts if she wanted so I made one for her birthday and thought it would go great with the two seasons of "Downton Abbey" on dvd.

Here is the progress on my cross stitch project.

Not as much done as I would like but it is getting there.

Went to one of the local quilt shops today and found some fantastic boiled wool in bright colors.  I will be using them in one of my cross stitch projects.  Kind of excited to start them now but am sticking with the finishing of some of my older projects first.  I did add another skein to the afghan I am knitting and picked up a book on crocheted edgings from Barnes and Noble today.  Just have to figure out the edging to choose as I am about one skein away from another finish!

Have a great day!

Progress Report

It has been a pleasant weekend all in all.  New neighbors moving in on the right side of my house.  Will be interesting.  This is my fifth or sixth neighbor in that house.  Still not sure if it is a family or not.

I have been crocheting dish cloths this week.  Mom gave me a book that has patterns using the new Scrubby yarn by Lily which I picked up at Michael's.  Made one I absolutely loved yesterday.  Mom thinks I need to make them as Christmas presents.  She was thilled with the one I made for her that looks like a Dahlia.

The boy child is happy as we purchased a new weed whacker last night.  In the excitment of the purchase I set my keys down and discovered them missing when we went to go home.  Fortunately, in retracing our steps we found them right off.  My son of course thought it was amusing but was a good sport about it.

So here is my current progress on my cross stitch.  I think it is coming along swimmingly.  I am so loving the colors together.

I also made a trip to Hobby Lobby.  Oh my!!!  I have a bunch of colors of DMC for new projects.
The poor girl that had to check me out.  She was pleasant about it.

Pleasant stitching this week to everyone!

Progress

Well, the girl child isn't coming home but has moved to Tennessee instead.  Interesting development for sure.

Have come out of my crafting melaise finally.  I have been working on a crocheted bag which will be felted when finished.  Just one more handle to knit on and threads to tuck.  It will be ready to felt by Thursday when I go to mom's for our night of stitching.

Started back to working on my Spring project.  Here is the progress.

Have some new projects in mind for when this one is finished.  Downloaded the pattern called "The Beekeeper's Quilt" from Ravelry.com to use up some of my yarn stash.  Really trying to use up the yarn stash.  This one will use up all the Universal Long Print in worsted weight I have.  I changed the pattern to to use the different weight yarn by changing the needle size to a 7 and didn't add stuffing.  I think these will turn into Christmas presents for the kids.

Found out Sugar and Cream yarn has some yarn that they called "Scrubby".  Going to try to make some wash clothes and such out of it.  Borrowed a cool book from my mom to do them up.  Think they will also be for Christmas.

Very excited because I found a frame for one of my old projects.  It will be liberated from the closet finally!  Can't wait to post a picture of it.

Have a great night stitching!
